My great-great grandfather on my mother's side. Apparently, he was also a medical doctor. I really don't know much about his work or preaching. He did have a several debates (including one vs. Ben Bogart) and wrote a few pamphlets, etc. He appeared once, in 1921, on the Abilene College Lectures. But I have nothing that has survived of his work.

Previously I had thought LeRoy was cousin to Foy Wallace, Sr., but my mother, who is an aficionado of genealogy, has cleared this up. Here is what she wrote:

"A. Leroy Elkins was an uncle to Foy Wallace, Sr. A. Leroy's sister, Margaret Paralee Elkins married Thomas Knox Wallace and had six children, James Wilson Wallace, Foy Edwin Wallace (Foy Sr), Sarah Martha, Marietta, Lochee Dee, Nova Emerson. This information came to me thru Wilson Wallace, a son of Foy Wallace, Jr. I spent a couple of days with Wilson who was preaching at Killeen, TX at that time.

"Leroy Elkins was my great grandfather, and his daughter, Lela Pearl Elkins was a first cousin to Foy, Sr., so my mother Edna Bernice Moss was second cousin to Foy, Jr."

There. All clear?
